Autumn At Dinton Pastures
Autumn has officially arrived at Dinton Pastures Country Park near Hurst, with a series of events taking place across September. The seasonal activities will commence with a Harvest Moon Canoe and Kayak Tour on Saturday 14 September.

Autumn At Dinton Pastures – Harvest Moon
The Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, marking the beginning of autumn, when the night and day are of equal length. Participants can bask in an evening sunset, in their boat of choice, as the seasons slip from summer to autumn.
Bookworms are welcome to enjoy a breath of fresh-air whilst chatting about their favourite novels, at the Walking Book Group, which is run through Wokingham Borough Libraries. It takes place on Thursday 26 September, from 10.30am to noon.
Canoe Tour
Later in the month visitors are invited to take to the water on the Autumn Watch Canoe Tour. Three seated canoes are used for the activity, which are ideal for couples or families with a one or two little ones who can share the middle seat. Larger family groups are also welcome and upon request the team can raft two canoes together. Alternatively they can step up the adventure by having two separate boats.

Participants will be guided by staff eager to share knowledge, whilst discovering what life on the lake looks like. The activity takes place between 10.30am to noon, on Sunday 29 September. At the end of the session join the team for coffee and cake overlooking the lake.
“As the days gradually get shorter and the temperature begins to dip, it’s an exciting time to reconnect with the great outdoors, and where better than Dinton Pastures Country Park. The lake provides the perfect backdrop for these autumnal activities,” said Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure.
“Whether you want to enjoy a breath of fresh air whilst chatting through your latest book, or wish to hit the water friends and family, there’s an activity to suit.”
Sailing Club
In addition, for any children or teens who learnt to sail over the summer, there is a Junior and Teen Sailing Club taking place on Saturday 14 September, from 1.30 – 4.30pm. The session is open to participants who are RYA Stage 1 and above and needs to be pre-booked.
Activity taster sessions are also available until the end of September. Try your hand at canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or sailing one last time before winter draws in. Boat hire will continue at weekends until the end of October half term.
