Boxing Fitness Hub Coming To Peach Place in Wokingham
BXGFit, a state-of-the-art boxing fitness hub, is arriving at Peach Place in Wokingham this autumn, following an increased demand in combat sports and fitness sessions across the borough.

Wokingham Borough Council is investing £630,000 into the boutique boxing fitness hub which will be the first of its kind within the borough and will bring social and health benefits, promoting positive physical and mental health for all ages including children from 8 years old and adults, whilst offering job opportunities to the local community.
In line with the regeneration of Peach Place and Elms Field, which sought to bring a new mix of national and independent business to Wokingham, an opportunity for a high-end boutique boxing studio offering a variety of classes was identified, to fit on-brand with local developments around the town. The 12-week construction on the first-floor unit at Peach Place is half-way through and is expected to be completed by October 2021.
Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure said, “Reinforced by the successes at the recent Olympic games, boxing has risen in popularity and the council has identified a gap within Wokingham town’s leisure offering. BXGFit will provide a dedicated, fully equipped, and functional space to support our residents whilst building a strong and safe community. The new boxing hub will provide many benefits to residents and the wider community, including promoting an active lifestyle, addressing anti-social behaviour, supporting young individuals, and providing career opportunities.
“For anyone who is interested in finding out more about BXGFit and would like to sign up for an early bird membership and class discount, I encourage you to visit our team in August and September at Peach Place.”
About BXGFit
BXGFit will offer combat exercise classes and free-box sessions for training and exercise purposes. The dedicated boxing fitness hub will be equipped with bespoke equipment including a training ring, a functional storage rig which has three fitness stations, a functional cube rig with attachments for four to six fitness stations, aquabags, heavy bags, uppercut bags and more.

The fitness hub is envisaged to create a rustic and premium destination to Peach Place, creating a new opportunity for residents to join something new and helping people to get active by offering a different experience to other fitness hubs in the surrounding areas. Different membership options will be available including ‘pay as you go’ and a premium subscription. Both in-person and virtual sessions will be available.
Available to hire
During off-peak hours, BXGFit’s space will be available to local boxing clubs for hire, self-defence partners, as well as supporting young individuals in the borough. It will also help address anti-social behaviour by working with the crime prevention team in the borough by providing off-peak sessions to help create discipline through the art of boxing, combat sports and martial arts. Sessions for youth offenders will be available at a subsidised cost, helping to address provisions for the youth within the borough to help find a safe place to socialise and exercise.
The development of BXGFit will support the council’s draft Leisure Strategy to enhance its leisure provision within the borough, supporting healthy weight management and helping borough residents to increase the amount of exercise in line with public health guidelines (completing 150 minutes exercise at moderate intensity, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity per week).
