Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Carnival Pool

Carnival Pool will have vital repair works and are set to take place starting on Tuesday May 1 for approximately two weeks.

Both the main pool and teaching pool will be unavailable for use during the closure, but all other leisure centre facilities, including the gym and fitness classes will operate as normal during this time.

Graham Ebers, director of corporate services and deputy chief executive, said:  “I’d like to apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused to our swimmers. We will be working with our contractors to ensure that the works are completed as quickly as possible. We would like to thank customers in advance for their patience and understanding during this time.

New Building

“We haven’t taken this decision lightly. The Carnival Pool is 25 years old and these vital repairs are needed now to maintain the life of the swimming pool until we can starting building the new leisure centre and pool on the current site from 2020.”

The council’s new leisure operator Places for People has been in touch with customers directly regarding their membership fee for the period the pool is closed.  For regular updates and further information please visit either the council’s website at: www.wokingham.gov.uk  or the operator’s website at:
