This weekend (1 and 2 June) Dinton Pastures Country Park in Hurst will be hosting its annual family fun weekend, with this year’s event set to be bigger and better than ever. Families will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities on offer in and around the country park, such as paddle boarding and archery.

The event is being held at Dinton Activity Centre, Sandford Lane where there will be a number of water sports on offer including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats, and even bumper boats for little ones. In addition, there will be a variety of land-based activities including the new zip line, which forms part of the rock climbing facility, along with face painting and hook a duck.

Activities will be open 10am – 5pm each day and attendees are invited to enjoy 20 minute sessions priced from just £3 per person.

There will also be a host of displays and interactive stalls raising awareness of some of the local services and sports clubs across the Wokingham Borough, including Wokingham Libraries and the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service Wargrave Reserve Fire Truck.

Visitors can delight in a range of refreshments from the 1st Winnersh Scouts, who will be on site rustling up mouth-watering burgers fresh from the BBQ. In addition, ‘Something to Eat’ will serve up BBQ pork and chili & lime mackerel, whilst vegetarians can tuck into delicious BBQ chick pea and veggie wraps. The Rollin Inn will also be on hand serving a range of cold alcoholic and soft drinks.

Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, commented: “This year’s family fun weekend is set to be bigger and better than ever before. Visitors will be able to enjoy a whole host of activities, including a newly introduced ‘Total Wipeout’ style obstacle course for teenagers and adults – there’s something for all ages.
