This weekend (1 and 2 June) DintonPastures Country Park in Hurst will be hosting its annualfamily fun weekend, with this year’s event set to be bigger and better thanever. Families will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities on offer in andaround the country park, such as paddle boarding and archery.

Dinton Pastures Family Fun Weekend

The event is being held at DintonActivity Centre, Sandford Lane where there will be a number of water sports onoffer including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats, and even bumperboats for little ones. In addition, there will be a variety of land-based activitiesincluding the new zip line, which forms part of the rock climbing facility,along with face painting and hook a duck.


Activities will be open 10am – 5pmeach day and attendees are invited to enjoy 20 minute sessions priced from just£3 per person.

There will also be a host of displaysand interactive stalls raising awareness of some of the local services andsports clubs across the Wokingham Borough, including Wokingham Libraries and theRoyal Berkshire Fire and Rescue service Wargrave Reserve Fire Truck.

Visitors can delight in a range ofrefreshments from the 1st Winnersh Scouts, who will be on siterustling up mouth-watering burgers fresh from the BBQ. In addition, ‘Somethingto Eat’ will serve up BBQ pork and chili & lime mackerel, whilst vegetarianscan tuck into delicious BBQ chick pea and veggie wraps. The Rollin Inn willalso be on hand serving a range of cold alcoholic and soft drinks.

Cllr Parry Batth, executive member forenvironment and leisure, commented: “This year’s family fun weekend is set to bebigger and better than ever before. Visitors will be able to enjoy a whole hostof activities, including a newly introduced ‘Total Wipeout’ style obstaclecourse for teenagers and adults – there’s something for all ages. Where betterto spend a sunny weekend in June than one of Wokingham Borough’s best lovedcountry parks?”

  • Powerboat tour (Ages 2+)
  • Bungee trampolines (Ages 2+)
  • Bumper boats (for ages 2-8)
  • Canoeing & Kayaking (Ages 4+)
  • Inflatable kingdom (Ages 4+)
  • Sailing (Ages 6+)
  • Climb and Zip Wire (Ages 6+) (One goper person)
  • Archery (Ages 6+)
  • Paddle boarding (Ages 8+)
  • ‘Total Wipeout’ style course (forteenagers and adults)

Under 8’s must be accompanied by anadult.
