Elms Field is set to become an even better destination for local families as the council announces some of the latest businesses to take up units in the new development.

Elms Field Shops

Kaspas Dessert parlour with their wide range of delicious desserts and drinks will be joined by This Little Piggy a fabulous independent children’s wear boutique, and Pirates Landing an exciting pirate themed indoor play centre for families. The council is also in detailed discussions with Starbucks, who are keen to open up a café alongside the park where their customers can benefit from outdoor seating right by the open space.

Cllr Charlotte Haitham Taylor, executive member for regeneration, said: “This Little Piggy, currently based at Holme Grange Craft Village, are already firm local favourites thanks to their gorgeous range of high quality clothing for babies and children. The move to the town centre will allow them to grow their business and reach even more of our local families with their commitment to quality and great customer service.

“Pirates Landing are another independent business who also pride themselves on offering great customer service and a fantastic experience that children and parents love. Their first indoor play centre in Camberley has proved a massive hit there with customers describing it as excellent, faultless and the perfect party place for birthdays. We expect they will be just as popular here at Elms Field, as a destination for families looking to have a great time out with their fun pirate themed soft play area and café.”

“Kaspa’s desserts are a rapidly expanding national chain and you can see why they have proven such a great success with sweet toothed people across the country. Their fabulous menu looks absolutely delicious with everything from ice cream sundaes, to waffles, crepes and desserts along with a great range of hot and cold drinks. The new Elms Field parlour will be their first unit in the area and we can’t wait to see Kaspas live up to its reputation as the ‘King of Desserts’!”

Elms Field Shops & Businesses Already Open

The council’s Elms Field development is part of their ambitious regeneration proposals which include a range of new shops and businesses, alongside great new public spaces such as the newly landscaped public park at Elms Field. Businesses already opened at Elms Field include the Everyman boutique cinema, Aldi Foodstore and Premier Inn hotel.

Cllr Haitham Taylor added: “We are delighted to see a variety of great independent businesses as well as some wonderful nationals come forward, such as Starbucks who would be a perfect fit alongside the park. There is still a way to go in agreeing final terms but we expect to be making lots more announcements over the coming months as the work at Elms Field completes and new businesses start to confirm opening dates.”

With the new buildings now revealed, work on the development has now moved behind the scenes as internal fit out continues to the new shops and homes. The development is set to complete later this spring with opening dates for the new businesses set to be confirmed in the coming months.

Park & Play Area

Cllr Haitham Taylor continued: “The new park and play area have proven a huge draw for local residents from across the area since it opened last summer and is firmly establishing itself as one of most popular destinations in the town. Even in the recent cold weather the play area remains incredibly popular and full of life”

“With its reputation as one of the best places to bring up children in the country the number of local families continues to grow. Over the years of consulting we’ve had continued requests from local families and young people for more places for them to go and things to do.  Family friendly businesses like these, right by the new park, will be the perfect match for Elms Field and we hope local residents will welcome them”
