Library Volunteer Celebration
Library Volunteer Celebration
Library Volunteer Celebration in Wokingham Borough libraries will be recognising the hard work of its volunteers, with a celebration of thanks at Wokingham Library on Friday June 8, 12noon to 2pm.
Volunteers play a huge role in delivering additional library services across the borough including storytime, rhymetime and arts and crafts; clubs for young people including Code club, Lego club, origami club, gaming clubs and writing groups; activities for adults such as reminiscence clubs, visually impaired book group, local history advice sessions and coffee mornings; and the Home Library Service
The 70 library volunteers have all been invited to come along where they will hear a talk from local poet Alan Brown and receive certificates to recognise their work as well as have the opportunity to meet other volunteers, catch up on library news, and enjoy lunch.
The event is being held to mark Volunteers Week, a nation-wide celebration of volunteering.
