New Dinton Activity Centre Announced

PLANS FOR A NEW £1.8M DINTON ACTIVITY CENTRE UNVEILED
A two storey building that compliments its natural surroundings, state-of-the-art facilities, an activity hall, and a coffee shop with a viewing gallery overlooking the lake; just a few of the new features planned for the new £1.8m Dinton Activity Centre, Hurst.
Drop In
Wokingham Borough Council is inviting residents to join its drop in session next week, where they can view the architectural drawings and discuss the design with project officers from the Council. The drop-in event will take place on Friday 15 November, 5.30 to 7.30pm, at the Dinton Activity Centre, Sandford Lane, Hurst.

Opening
Feedback from residents will help to shape the final design of the new centre. Once planning is approved work is set to begin in spring 2020, with the new centre due to open in the summer. The current Dinton Activity Centre will continue to operate as normal whilst the new centre is constructed.
“We know that Dinton Pastures Country Park is well loved by our residents across the borough, welcoming over 20,500 visitors just this year. That’s why I believe it is so important that we continue to invest in its upkeep, which includes providing a fit for purpose activity centre that can provide enjoyment for our residents and future generations to come,” said Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure.
