Open Air Cinema Nights Return To Dinton Pastures
Missed watching your favourite movies on the big screen? Get your picnic blankets and popcorn at the ready, as Dinton Pastures Country Park prepares to host a series of socially distanced, open air cinema nights this summer. For the third year running, guests are invited to sit back, relax, and safely enjoy a variety of family favourite films, with screenings rolling from 1 to 29 of August.
First Night Special
For the opening act, musical fans are in for a treat as The Greatest Showman airs on Saturday 1 August. Next up, on Saturday 15 August, pick a socially safe space and watch Patrick Swayze in the cult classic Dirty Dancing.
Due to popular demand, Bohemian Rhapsody will air for the second year running. Freddie Mercury fans have the chance to catch the foot-stomping celebration of Queen on Saturday 22 August. Last but not least, we welcome Buzz, Woody and friends back to the big screen with the ever popular Toy Story 4, on Saturday 29 August.

Cllr Parry Batth, executive member for environment and leisure, said: “We are delighted to once again host our popular open air cinema nights at Dinton Pastures. The fact that these films will air in the great outdoors, means we are confident that viewers can safely enjoy their favourite films with family and friends. Last year’s screenings were incredibly popular, so be sure to grab tickets while you can.”
COVID Secure
The outdoor cinema events will be run in line with the Government’s COVID-secure guidance, which enables venues to host large events where safety measures are adhered to. The Dinton Pastures team have implemented a series of precautions to ensure the wellbeing of guests.
In addition, to ensure guests can safely social distance, this year food or drinks vendors will not be permitted on site and instead attendees are asked to bring their own picnic.
The cinema screen has also moved to the plateau on Lea Heath, to give ample room for people to spread out. Toilets will operate a one in, one out system and we will be asking people to use the hand sanitiser provided on arrival. We would also encourage cinema-goers to download the Ringo app in order to pay for their parking remotely.
To ensure guests safety, ticket holders will be given a scheduled arrival time which they must adhere to. This will ensure there are minimal queues at entry and will ensure everyone can safely social distance. Further details and time slot will be emailed to attendees one week before their chosen film.
Please note, all film start times are subject to darkness.
