Shinfield St Marys School (CE Junior School) has been nominated for the Get Berkshire Active Awards 2017: Active Primary School award.

The Wokingham Borough primary school which has been recently awarded the School Games Gold Mark for the third consecutive year, have high quality extracurricular P.E. and extremely high participation numbers across the school, with innovative ways in which pupils can get involved – irrespective of their abilities.

 

Cllr Norman Jorgensen, executive member for environment, sports, environmental health, leisure and libraries, said “As a borough, we are amongst the most active in the country. It is great to see that this has been reflected in a nomination for Shinfield St Mary’s for the work they have done to get pupils active.”

 

Get Berkshire Active

The sixth annual Get Berkshire Active Awards, recognise the people that have excelled in sport or physical activity across the county in the past year. They celebrate people and organisations that help to promote, work, support and take part in all types of sport and physical activity in Berkshire.

 

This year’s awards will be held on Friday February 23 2018 at the Hilton Hotel, Reading. Active Primary School, Active Secondary School, and Community Club of the Year will all be decided by the public vote.
