January is over and that can only mean one thing, February half term is just around the corner. Don’t worry, we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy over the school break.

Whether you are in need of something to keep the children safe and entertained while you’re at work or you are looking for a fun afternoon out, help is at hand !

St Crispinds & Loddon Valley Leisure Centre

Wokingham Active Kids team are back this half term hosting fun-filled days for 5 to 12 year olds at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre and St Crispin’s Leisure Centre where children will be spoilt for choice with activities including martial arts, swimming, gymnastics, cricket, basketball and even an inflatable assault course.

Whether booking for a few days or the full week, there are savings to be had. If you book a minimum of two days for the next three half terms you will receive 25 percent off your total booking. For more details and to book visit the Wokingham Active Kids page.

For a low cost fun-filled hour or two out, look no further than our borough libraries. The musical spectacle Alice’s Tea Cup Adventures will be performed by The Enchanted Players Theatre Company on Monday 17 February at Woodley Library, featuring Alice, Tinkerbelle and Captain Hook. Followed by mad hatters crown craft. Places must be booked for this event so get your ticket for just £5 before it’s too late!

What better time to teach your little ones about recycling than with our Sea-cycle workshop at Wokingham Library. On Thursday 20 February from 2pm, children will have the opportunity to learn about recycling as they create sea creatures from recyclable items. To take part book tickets in advance, click here.

Drive Start

For 15 to 19 year olds we have the return of the award winning Drive Start pre-driver training course on Thursday 20 February. For a £20 ticket, students can take part in a number of interactive sessions including:

•How to apply for a licence, the Highway Code and the tests you will need to pass

•Hazard perception

•How to operate a vehicle, and what manoeuvres make up part of the test

•The costs of owning a car

•Vehicle maintenance

•Scene management – what to do if you break down or arrive at a collision

Running from 10am to 3pm, the award winning course also gives teens the chance to get behind the wheel on a taster driving lesson with a qualified instructor. For more details and to book visit our My Journey page.
