Wokingham Car Park Charges Amended For Jubilee Holidays
The council is revising its parking charges during the week of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to help residents attend local celebratory events and visit the borough’s shops and amenities. Free parking is available in selected car parks on the bank holiday dates. Normal parking charges apply at other times.
Wokingham Car Park Charges For Jubilee Bank Holidays
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee bank holiday weekend takes place over four days from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June 2022. The Queen is the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
The revised parking charges include:
- Monday 30 May – normal parking charges apply
- Thursday 2 June (bank holiday) – free parking
- Friday 3 June (bank holiday) – free parking
- Saturday 4 June – normal parking charges apply
- Sunday 5 June – free parking
The revised parking charges will apply to the following car parks:
- Carnival Pool multi-storey car park
- Denmark Street
- Cockpit Path
- Easthampstead Road East and West
- Rose Street
- Civic Offices Shute End
- Crockhamwell Road
- Lytham Road East and West
- Headley Road
- Polehampton Road
- School Lane
Parking charges will apply at all times in the following car parks:
- Station Road, Earley
- Winnersh Park and Ride
- Thames Valley Park and Ride
- Dinton Pastures Country Park
- California Country Park
Parking restrictions in other areas in the borough may apply.
Executive member for active travel, transport and highways, Cllr Paul Fishwick said: “There are plenty of events and celebrations planned across Wokingham Borough and we are proud to support our residents, businesses and the wider community to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by offering free parking in selected car parks on the bank holiday dates.
“We also have a fantastic range of independent and chain shops, restaurants and bars, so if you are planning on visiting Wokingham Borough, do pop in and support our wonderful local businesses.
Wherever possible, please walk, cycle or use public transport (bus or rail) for a better Wokingham Borough.”
