Wokingham Carers Week 2018

Wokingham Carers Week

Wokingham Borough Council is teaming up with Wokingham Outreach Service, Barkham Day Hospital Memory Clinic, Involve, The Wade Day Centre, and the Bradbury Centre to organise a programme of events and activities to mark Carers Week 2018 in the Wokingham Borough.

 

Carers Week is an annual national event to recognise the contribution of unpaid carers throughout the UK and the challenges they face.

 

Events

 

Events are being held throughout the week (June 11 to June 17) for unpaid carers in the Wokingham Borough:

 

  • Monday June 11: Pampering sessions and information stands at the Bradbury Centre, Wokingham, RG40 1XS from 11am until 3.30pm
  • Tuesday June 12: Cookery session from 10am until 12noon at Earley Resource Centre, Warbler Drive, RG6 4BH
  • Thursday June 14: Afternoon cream tea from 1pm until 3.30pm at Swallowfield Park, Swallowfield, RG7, 1TG
  • Monday June 11 to Friday June 15: Wokingham Outreach Service will have an information stall at the Council Offices at Shute End.

 

Book Places

 

Places should be booked in advance. A respite service is available to allow carers to attend the event on June 14. Places are limited and available on a first come first served basis.

 

As well as all of this, young carers in the Wokingham Borough can also enjoy a day packed with sport, face painting, ice cream and special guests on Saturday June 16 at Woodley Memorial Ground from 9.30am to 3.45pm. They can also enjoy a game on the new Arborfield 3G pitch on Thursday June 14.
