Wokingham Secondary School Admission Results

Wokingham Borough Council has this week (March 1) revealed that 87 per cent of pupils who applied for a secondary school place will get a place at their first preference school.

The borough council received almost two thousand applications (1,954) for places for this September and more than 96 per cent have got one of their three preferences and every child whose application was made on time has a place at secondary school.

Cllr Charlotte Haitham Taylor, executive member for children’s services, said: “School places are allocated fairly and objectively, and each application is considered using the criteria agreed for that school.

“I would like to thank our admissions team and schools who have done a fantastic job advising parents how to use their preferences wisely and, what to do if they are unhappy with the place they’ve got.

Wokingham Borough

We are very committed to high standards of education provided at all of our schools, so parents should be reassured their children will receive a good education in the Wokingham Borough that will enable them to acquire the skills to succeed in life.”

For parents on a waiting list for a preferred school, they will be able to find out where they are on that list from March 15 onwards. This is because time must be given for parents to accept or decline their offer of places.
