Wokingham Sixth Formers Celebrate A Level results for 2017
Sixth formers at Wokingham Schools
Sixth formers at Wokingham Borough schools have achieved a 99.1 per cent overall pass rate (A* to E). This is higher than last year’s (98 per cent) and exceeds the national 2017 figure of 97.9 per cent.
The proportion of students across the borough achieving the highest (A* to A) grades is 23.2 per cent.
Bulmershe School
And The Bulmershe School in Woodlands Road, Woodley, has triumphed with the best set of A-level results so far in its history, with a 100 per cent pass rate among its sixth form students.
This is a tremendous achievement for Bulmershe and all Wokingham Borough schools, and follows changes introduced nationally two years ago which now places the emphasis on exam success at the end of two years of study.
Subjects
The 13 subject areas are no longer divided into modules for ongoing assessment, and there are no longer January exams. So students have one important opportunity in the summer to demonstrate their learning.
“Its great news all round. Well done to all the students, their schools and their families for all their hard work,” said Cllr Mark Ashwell, executive member for children’s services.
“And hats off also to the whole school community at Bulmershe for their outstanding success.”
